HOPE Curriculum

Curriculum Summary


HOPE Charter School offers a curriculum designed to meet the needs of the entire student body regardless of current academic achievement. Students performing at low, average and above-average levels will be challenged by the diverse and vigorous plan of study created by C&W Consultants.

Each discipline adheres to Pennsylvania state standards with cooperative learning centers, hands-on activities, open-ended testing, use of computer technology, daily warm ups, journal writing, and a plethora of vocabulary and mathematics techniques to ensure continuous progress for every student.

Coupled with up-to-date resources for each subject and grade, HOPE Charter School provides a balanced educational experience tailored specifically for its clientele.

Grading Scale:


90-100 A
80-89 B
70-79 70-79 C
60-69 D
Below 60 Failing

To move between grades:


To move from 9th to 10th grade requires 5 credits of passing grades
To move from 10th to 11th grade requires 11 credits of passing grades
To move from 11th to 12th grade requires 17.5 credits of passing grades
To graduate HCS requires 23.5 credits of passing grades


To graduate:


All students are required to have 23.5 credits to graduate. The course requirements for each subject area are as follows:
English - 4 credits
Math - 4 credits
Science - 4 credits
Arts and humanities -  2 credits
Health/PE - 1.5 credits
World language - 2 credits
Electives - 3 credits
